- Notification: Successful candidates will be contacted by the Centre for Masters Training (CMT) and the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB) in May 2026. An integral UK “home-grown” part of the energy sector. As we are well aware, the continuing decline in student numbers (UG and PG) in geoscience over the past few years is a concern. The intent of the Bursaries is to make a contribution to reverse this trend. Funding of the Bursaries is kindly provided equally by GESGB and CMT sponsors; Bp, CNOOC and ExxonMobil. The principal objective of this CMT GESGB initiative is to attract highly talented students into vocational training in energy geoscience
Funding
- The Energy Transition Centre for Masters’ Training (CMT) and the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB) will be jointly funding 12 Bursaries, each valued at £6000 per annum, for students who will be enrolled in an energy geoscience-related MSc course for the forthcoming academic year 2026/2027.
Eligibility
- Applicants from any nationality are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be in receipt of either a conditional or unconditional offer from a UK Geoscience taught masters’ course, and not be in receipt of any other award that fully funds the course and living expenses.
